Their technology not only provides resolution that is far greater than high-definition, it also gives us the flexibility to offer our guests a tremendous variety of choice in entertainment, including big screen events such as NHL hockey, Metropolitan Opera performances and this holiday season’s most talked about event, National Ballet of Canada’s The Nutcracker”. “This is a true entertainment complex like no other, that guests of all ages will enjoy,” commented Dave Muscat, director of sales, Christie Digital Systems Canada, Inc. “We’re extremely pleased to be working with Cineplex Entertainment on what is now the largest Digital Cinema equipped entertainment complex in Canada and the first of its kind in North America. It is also a fitting place for the Christie CP2000 and Christie DW3K – both of which are manufactured in Kitchener, Ontario at our world-class, ISO 9001:2000 manufacturing headquarters.” Christie’s famous CP2000 series projectors are installed in over 4,300 theatres worldwide and have launched major digital movie premieres including Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith”, Disney/Pixar animated feature “Cars”, Walt Disney Pictures’/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “Pirates of the Caribbean” and most recently Paramount Pictures/Robert Zemeckis’ “Beowulf” in 3D Digital Cinema. The projectors have also supported international film festivals including the Cannes Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival. Christie holds one of only three exclusive licenses of Texas Instruments’ DLP Cinema technology and is the most installed and preferred choice for Digital Cinema entertainment worldwide with 80% market share and backing from six major Hollywood Studios. The pioneering DLP Cinema technology in Christie’s projectors ensures perfect reproduction of movies, time and time again, as well as pristine, 2K-resolution picture quality that delivers extreme contrast and vibrant colors.
