GDC Technology, a leading digital cinema provider, will become a distributor for RealD’s 3D systems in Asia. Under the non-exclusive agreement, GDC will work with RealD, the global leader in providing 3D to cinema, in territories such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.

GDC will represent RealD in areas including sales inquiries, technical support, maintenance, installation, marketing support and on-going operations. GDC has also secured deployment deals with the two largest cinema chains in Hong Kong: Broadway Circuit and UA Cinemas.

Coupled with GDC’s own range of digital cinema products and the recently signed VPF agreements with major Hollywood studios, the RealD distributorship adds significantly to GDC’s repertoire of product and service offerings, according to the company’s announcement at ShoWest 2009 in Las Vegas.

“There is undoubtedly a rising demand for 3D in Asia,” said Dr. Man-Nang Chong, founder and CEO of GDC. “GDC will be in a strong position to tap into this opportunity by forging a partnership with RealD, who is the undisputed leader with the largest share of the 3D market worldwide.”
