DOREMI SCORES WITH SENSIO FOR LIVE 3D BROADCASTS OF FIFA WORLD CUP SOCCER

Burbank, CA June 14, 2010 - Doremi Cinema today announced that a number of its digital cinema server customers around the world are now streaming live Sensio 3D broadcasts of FIFA World Cup Soccer matches.

At this point in time, only Doremi Cinema servers are capable of decoding Sensio Live 3D broadcasts without adding additional hardware in the projection booth. Sensio is providing the 3D encoding technology behind the live FIFA broadcasts.  In 2008, Doremi partnered with Sensio and embeded Sensio's Live 3D encoding and streaming technology into all of its digital cinema servers (including those already in the field). However, for theaters with other manufacturer's digital cinema servers, Doremi has a new hardware solution called Dimension-3D Cine. The Dimension-3D Cine provides a way to decode Sensio 3D live events such as FIFA World Cup without the need to manually reconfigure the cabling. The Dimension-3D Cine connects to the live event IRD, the DCI server and the DCI projector.

But what about multi-casting live broadcasts to several screens at once? This can be achieved with Doremi's new StreamIt. In development for the past 18 months, StreamIt is a broadcast MPEG2 video streamer companion device for Doremi digital cinema servers. The StreamIt enables the streaming of alternative programming via satellite to multiple screens live, in both 2D and 3D. Up to four screens can be streamed simultaneously allowing for up to the minute scheduling.  The StreamIt only works with Doremi Cinema servers at this time.

“This is an exciting milestone for digital cinema equipped theaters and venues” comments Michael Archer, VP of Doremi Cinema.  “Exhibitors are seeing more alternative content revenue streams that support the transition to all digital cinema screens, and Doremi's hardware solutions makes the ability to participate that much simpler.”

Sensio President and CEO Nicholas Routhier comments “It's exciting that theater owners will be able to receive and stream live 3D events like FIFA World Cup to an entirely new demographic of customers. Innovative companies like Doremi, with their Sensio 3D enabled servers and ancillary hardware options, means all digital cinema theaters will be able to capitalize on live 3D World Cup broadcasts if they so desire.”

Soccer is the world’s most popular spectator sport and the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup is exptected to have over 26 billion viewers.
